LorenaRed clinker brick, grey slate roofs and the rectangular shape characterize our estate, which was first mentioned in the 13th century. After the Second World War, orphans appreciated the "castle" as a temporary home. Numerous refugees and displaced persons also found accommodation and work on the estate after 1945. In the past, the estate served as a castle and fortification, today it is a place of hospitality.
The design is very similar to a square measuring around 110 meters by 110 meters. The large entrance gate is framed by the granary, the stables for horses, young cattle, cows and pigs as well as the dairy, the barn and coach house and the apartments for the staff. Massive but wonderful - this is the best way to describe our complex.
Children can let off steam and have fun in our courtyard, while parents can enjoy their coffee on the terrace. The natural playground is one of the many opportunities for the little ones to let off steam. In addition to the playground, we offer a wide range of activities so that you can make the most of your free time and have fun at the same time.
Swing golf is a beginner-friendly outdoor sport for the whole family. The rules of the game are very similar to classic golf, but simpler. On Saturdays during the winter, we will transform our swing golf course into a bowling alley for young and old! In bad weather or for group reservations, we recommend our Gutshof games. These offer you various games of skill that have to be mastered in groups. These games are not only fun, but also strengthen groups and promote team building in the long term.
In our farm café, which is located in a former granary, you can enjoy our homemade cakes, tarts and breads on one of the terraces in good weather.
In addition to the activities mentioned above, there is also a lot to experience outside our farm. In the Hasetal there are various possibilities to do something good for yourself. You can go canoeing on the river. From the boats you have a very special perspective and can discover many animals on the banks. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a kingfisher. If you want to see even more, hop on a bike and explore nature and culture on the cycle routes along the Hase tributaries Mittel- and Südradde. If that doesn't appeal to you either, then a visit to the monastery "Stift Börstel" or a visit to the Theaterwerkstatt Quakenbrück is a good idea.
We look forward to your visit!
