MarkusWelcome to our Kotten! We look forward to your visit!
There are two things here: the peace and quiet of country life on the one hand, and the sounds of country life on the other. We have tractors that help us with our work, we mow the lawn, the owls are active at night and during the day you can hear the kestrels that circle over our cottage from time to time. And of course we also flit through the picture from time to time.
The B 63 is just under 100 meters away - so you're not in the real hinterland here, but you're close. You are relatively close to the cities of Münster, Hamm and Dortmund (train stations 6 and 9 km away respectively)
On the east side of our small farm we offer pitches for more or less self-sufficient vans, camper vans or caravans. We can offer you electricity and water in small quantities if required (i.e. not to fill the gray water tank completely). There is a cold water outdoor shower by the sauna, but no WC.
You camp next to/under our willow tree with a view of our mill tower. The meadow is lined with many young fruit trees of old, dying varieties, which we have planted as part of the NABU orchard project to sustainably protect old fruit varieties from extinction.
The highlight is the view of our listed mill tower and the sunsets - preferably with a crackling campfire - feel free to ask us about our fire bowl.
We have a small barrel sauna that you are welcome to use (15 euros for one person, each additional person 5 euros. Duration 2.5 - 3 hours).
Our three goats Odiloh, Azrael and Lavender have their home in your direct neighborhood.
To be honest, our cat Katinka is not really happy about dog guests, but has come to terms with it.
The smell of fresh hay accompanies you in summer.
Children & dogs are welcome!
The meadow with the pitches is directly adjacent to our farm. If you would like to be completely alone and in peace, then you should book our single pitch on the orchard meadow south of the mill - this is standard with its own large bathroom/shower, and has a swing and a small sandpit and lots of old fruit trees and berry bushes to snack on.
The price quoted is for a vehicle with two people per night. From the 3rd person, each adult costs an additional 5 euros and each child 3 euros per night. Children under 4 years are free of charge. If you need electricity, please contact me.
Dogs: we love animals, all are welcome! Because of our animals, the condition is that you can live with the fact that your animals are always on a leash or in a run on our property. Please let us know if you would like to bring your four-legged friend(s) with you.
ACTIVITIES
I have put together a little booklet with things to see and do, which I will send you when you book and which will inspire you.
If you would like to get to know some of the really beautiful destinations in our area, it is an advantage if you are mobile (bike, car). But beautiful hikes are also possible.
A large grocery store with a bakery, two restaurants, a snack bar, the post office and doctors are all within walking distance.
Several beautiful cycling and hiking routes run alongside our mill - either directly into the industrial culture or into the nature of the Münsterland. The start of the Werseradweg cycle path is very close by. You can also join the 100 Castles Route from here.
You will also find bathing and hiking lakes in the surrounding area (20-35 km).
Forests can be reached by bike.
Canoe and kayak trips on the Werse or Lippe rivers are offered in the surrounding area.
By car or train, you can quickly reach Münster, Dortmund, Hamm or visit small, typical Münsterland towns. In my opinion, Münster in particular is worth a day trip. And Holland is not far away either. And of course the Ruhr region with its industrial culture.
If you are looking for day trip destinations for your children, here are a few tips: Münster has a wonderful all-weather zoo, a planetarium, the mill museum and the Aasee lake, where you can go pedal boating. In Hamm there is the Maxipark.
Swimming pool, great sauna, indoor pool 10 km away - beautiful cycle path
Shopping facilities (groceries) 1 km away. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen and Hamm 10 km away (beautiful cycle paths there).
You will find numerous opportunities for regional and Mediterranean food in Ahlen, Münster and Hamm.
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. Or within 48 hours of booking, up to one day before arrival.
