Rubbertsmühle goat pasture (single space, sauna)

Welcome to our cottage! We're glad you found us. On the east side of our farm, you'll find a large meadow. If you like, you can find shade under the trees. You are welcome to come with several vehicles and bring your pets (please keep them on a leash so that all animals can live here in peace). You are welcome to use our barrel sauna and borrow our fire pit. Please note: In dry weather, you can park in various places on the meadow. In rainy weather, you will park near our farm, right next to the goat pasture. This area is paved and the ground is sand.

You will camp next to/under our willow tree with a view of our mill tower and the farm building. The mill tower is always a highlight. It was built in the late 1800s and lost its wings early on due to a fire. Until it ceased operation, the mill was powered by a combined heat and power plant. Today, the tower is a monument and provides a home for kestrels, owls, and ravens. The kestrels breed in a window of the tower, and in spring you can watch the young falcons being raised and attempting to fly. At night, you can often hear the call of our owls. There are also lots of hares and pheasants here, and occasionally, though rarely, you may see a deer.

The meadow is lined with many young fruit trees of old, dying varieties, which we planted as part of the NABU orchard meadow project to sustainably protect old fruit varieties from extinction. The trees now bear fruit, which you are welcome to help yourself to.

Adjacent to the meadow live our two goats, Azrael and Lavender, who are shy but always happy to see guests because they are very curious and like to observe. Amenities:

🔅Private bathroom with toilet and shower. Hot water is supplied by a water heater (38 degrees). 🔅The sink is large enough for you to wash dishes there. 🔅We have provided a refrigerator with various beverages (water, Spezi, beer, wine). You can also get eggs from happy chickens there. 🔅You are welcome to use our barrel sauna and the rain shower under the lime tree. 🔅You are also welcome to borrow our fire pit. You can purchase wood from us or bring your own.

💰Prices ▫️The price is for one vehicle with a maximum of two people. 4 kWh of electricity/night is included. ▫️From the third person onwards, additional costs will be incurred, which you pay in cash on site: Adults (16 years and older) 10 euros, children 4 years and older 7 euros per night.

🚐 Arrival/departure times: Arrival from 2 p.m., departure by 1 p.m. If no one is arriving before you or coming after you, you are welcome to arrive earlier or leave later. 🚗 🚜🏍️ Noises: On the one hand, there is the peace and quiet of country life, and on the other hand, there are the noises of country life. You may hear a tractor or lawnmower running, or other noises. You are surrounded by greenery and nature. The road is about 100 meters away. If the field between the meadow and the road is cultivated, you will be very quiet, otherwise you will be able to see the traffic and, depending on the wind direction and traffic, hear it to a greater or lesser extent. If you would like to be completely alone and quiet, then you should book our single parking space on the orchard meadow south of the mill—it also has a swing and a small sandpit and many old fruit trees and berry bushes for snacking.

Pets 🐕🐈: I have already mentioned above that pets are very welcome here. There is no extra charge, and you are welcome to bring several animals. By booking, you agree to the following rules: 1. Please inform us in advance that you have animals with you. 2. Please keep your animals secure on our property at all times (leash, etc.). 3. Guests who let their animals run free despite this agreement must leave the premises immediately. In this case, costs will not be refunded. 🥾🚲🌾🏰 Surroundings/activities I have put together a small booklet with sights and experiences that I will send you when you book, which you can use for inspiration. Here is a brief overview:

🔅Shopping facilities (groceries) 1 km away. Shopping streets in Drensteinfurt, Ahlen, and Hamm 10 km away (nice bike paths to get there). 🔅Numerous options for regional and Mediterranean cuisine can be found in Ahlen, Münster, and Hamm.

🥐 A large grocery store with a bakery, two restaurants, a snack bar, the post office, and doctors are within walking distance. 🥾🚲 Several beautiful cycling and hiking routes run alongside our mill—either directly into the industrial culture or into the nature of the Münsterland region. The entrance to the Wera Cycle Route is very close by. You can also join the 100 Castles Route from here. 💦 There are also lakes for swimming and hiking in the surrounding area (20-35 km). 🌳 Forests can be reached by bike. 🛶 Canoe and kayak trips on the Werse or Lippe rivers are offered in the surrounding area.

🔅By car or train, you can quickly reach Münster, Dortmund, Hamm, or visit small, typical Münsterland villages. In my opinion, Münster in particular is worth a day trip. And Holland is not far away either.
