We stayed with Steffen for only one of the two nights. Unfortunately, due to the adjacent school—including a residential group of teenagers who played basketball until 8:00 p.m.—as well as the soccer field located right nearby, where people were also playing and cheering loudly, it didn’t offer the peace and quiet and unique atmosphere we look for in a place to stay. Maybe it was just bad luck with the noise, since the host has never received complaints from guests before, or maybe we’re just too sensitive. Still, we think a school, a sports field, and a playground in the immediate vicinity should be mentioned more clearly in the description. For the second night, the host granted a 50% discount as a gesture of goodwill. Hinterland itself refunded 100% of the fee. A huge shout-out to Hinterland Support at this point. THANK YOU. On the positive side, everything was clean. The host’s parents gave us a very warm welcome (unfortunately, Steffen himself wasn’t there), and the location is a great starting point for walks.
We were really pleased with the warm welcome. Steffen has a soft spot for us campers and has designed the campsite and restroom facilities with great care. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at this beautiful spot. This campsite is a great starting point for exploring the surrounding area. We really liked the old town of Lohr am Main. We’d love to come back and stay with Steffen at his beautiful log cabin with a vacation apartment!
