Many beautiful cycling and hiking trails lead through Gelenau and the surrounding area. You can set off in various directions from the hiking and cycling station. Popular hiking trails lead to Amtsberg, Kemtau, on the B 95 to Auerbach to the "Tischl" or to Burkhardtsdorf. The Brettmüllerweg leads you to Herold and Ehrenfriedersdorf, the so-called Plattenstraße takes you along the Thum-Herold-Gelenau ring road and the Wilischthalweg leads you into the picturesque Zschopau valley. There is a game reserve right next to the Zinipi. It attracts many hikers with its fallow deer. Especially in spring, after the birth of the young animals, the wildlife park becomes an attraction. Children particularly enjoy the fawns at play. A hiking trail leads around the 4-hectare game enclosure and several seating areas invite you to linger. From the bridge you have a beautiful view over the entire area.
