A very friendly host. Great campsite near the Czech border. If you love nature, this is the place for you. The spot by the stream has also been lovingly landscaped and is just wonderful for unwinding from everyday life. Everything was just great.

We spent two nights with our camper van and our two dogs at the campsite by the quarry. We all agree—it was great. The site is located on a road, but there’s very little traffic, so you’re left undisturbed. With the extremely summery temperatures, we were glad that there was always a shady spot available for the camper and us. We were happy to use the dry toilet, located just a few meters across the street, since we aren’t completely self-sufficient. There was toilet paper and a free view of the forest. A refreshing dip and plenty of nature can be found nearby at the small river that connects Germany and the Czech Republic. Here, Kay has set up another campsite for tenters. The area is characterized by extensive hiking and biking trails, though you’ll need to be in decent shape for some of the hills :-). There’s plenty of forest, lots of greenery, and an endless variety of plants to discover. It’s ideal for us and our four-legged friends—a true natural paradise. We enjoyed the sunsets from a bench above the campsite. A lovely way to end the day with a view of a beautiful natural meadow, valley, and mountain. Communication with Kay went really well—prompt and very friendly. The campsite was easy to find, just as he described. As a memento of our lovely stay in the Ore Mountains, we even bought a birdhouse from Kay; it’ll have a nice spot in our garden paradise. So, if you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and nature, you’ll be in good hands at this beautiful little spot. We’ll definitely be happy to stop by again. Many thanks from the four of us from Thuringia.
What a fantastic place! Kay really made it a beautiful place with a lot of love, it is so connected with and with a lot of love towards nature! This place let you feel and experience to be part of nature. The camp side and place for the camper is beautiful and Kay had arranged it perfect also with gratitude and respect for nature! For us this is really a place to come back!
I would wholeheartedly recommend staying with Kay. The spot is simply wonderful and lovingly prepared. It helped me reconnect with nature and refocus on the essential things in life... Thank you for that! My top five: - The sound of the stream around the clock - The many facts about the flora and fauna - The friendly and easygoing interaction with Kay - The peace and quiet - The priceless view from the “Pipibox” 😀 So, Kay: thank you so much for everything—and especially for the insights.
