What a great place. We were warmly welcomed by the hosts—always nice and a pleasant change of pace! The campground has a small shop selling homemade natural cosmetics, ice cream, sorbets, and drinks. There’s also a large sink in the shop for washing dishes. The restroom is fine. There’s a hammock, a hot tub (we used it and thought it was great—though you have to allow a good two hours for it to heat up), a small table on a patio, and a private shower. We built a campfire (a fire pit is provided) and grilled sausages and marshmallows on sticks. The electrical outlet is designed for two-prong plugs; luckily, there was an adapter lying around, but I recommend bringing your own (they cost about 10 euros on Amazon; I’ve since ordered one that stays in the van permanently). Our kids were well taken care of: there’s a great floor trampoline, mini-soccer goals, and plenty of pedal tractors with trailers. You can hike to a small chapel with a fantastic view and from there continue down to Samerberg—a picturesque village with a small Edeka (cash only), ATMs, and a restaurant that looks excellent: the “Entenbrust.” A natural swimming area, located just a few kilometers away, is also within walking distance. The farm was bustling with activity, and the whole family pitched in; we hardly ever left the campground because the kids were kept busy and we felt relaxed and welcome. The view is truly spectacular: on one side, the lights of Rosenheim; on the other, the striking peak of the Heuberg. The sunrises and sunsets are also impressive. We’ll definitely be back.
