This spot is beautifully situated right next to the Unstrut River and is ideal for fully self-sufficient campers. The downside is that the site borders a main road running along the top of the embankment; while traffic isn’t heavy, vehicles travel at high speeds. We slept very well nonetheless. We avoided swimming in the Unstrut because, personally, the water was too murky for us. But that’s certainly a matter of taste. In the summer, the trees provide lovely shade, and you can see wonderful fireflies. The composting toilet also works perfectly. However, people with long legs have trouble closing the door—the clearance is simply too small. Otherwise, the site offers plenty of space for several campers to park, play, and enjoy the outdoors. A hiking trail runs right past the site.
