Our traditional Rottal four-sided farmstead is idyllically situated, standing alone on a quiet and sunny hilltop with no through traffic.
The farm is surrounded by horse paddocks, meadows, and many different fruit trees, both young and old. The forest right next door invites you to take long, peaceful walks. There are marked hiking trails for wonderful short and longer hikes in the charming, rural, and gently rolling hills of the Stubenberg municipality.
That’s why our area is often called the heart of “Bavarian Tuscany.”
Our certified organic horse farm is located between Munich and Passau on the B12/A94. From there, it’s just under 5 minutes to us—so we have excellent transportation access, yet it’s still very quiet.
Quaint inns with shaded beer gardens serving both upscale and simple Bavarian cuisine, as well as a bakery and shopping options, are within walking distance (1.5 km).
We put our heart and soul into running a peaceful, species-appropriate horse boarding facility and an ecologically certified grain farm. Our high-quality spelt, oats, and barley are processed by the “Antersdorfer Mühle” near Simbach Inn—one of Europe’s largest mills—into spelt flour, oat muesli, pops, and much more.
The “Weitblick” single-site campsite is right next to our horses and ponies. You’ll sleep almost right next to the horses and enjoy the “horse show”; we also offer “Bayrisch Popkorn,” popcorn made from corn grown by a farmer in Lower Bavaria.
You’ll also enjoy a magnificent view over the picturesque village of Stubenberg and the Upper Austrian Inn Valley—and, weather permitting, all the way to the Salzburg Alps.
We also have another spacious, shaded single campsite called “Am Krichalbaum” by the water reservoir, with a beautiful view of the horse paddocks and the village—and, weather permitting, stunning sunsets! It’s large enough to accommodate friends or groups.
General Information:
- Electricity and Wi-Fi at all campsites

- Kitchen use: electric stove; dishwasher available for a fee
Upon request, we’re happy to provide a simple tripod grill free of charge or a portable stand-up grill (€3 per use)
We offer fresh organic eggs from our free-range chickens and delicious organic apple juice from our orchards. You can find honey and great natural cosmetics at our neighbor’s. He offers wonderful bee tours upon request.
On the farm:
Playground and soccer field for children, go-karts, pedal cars, ping-pong table, foosball table, and a campfire pit.
Children can go pony riding here (for a fee, upon request, and only for stays of 2 nights or more) and experience farm life with sheep, chickens, cats, rabbits, and tractor rides.
A fantastic, adventurous 3D archery course awaits adults and children alike. We can provide rental bows and arrows for a rental fee. There are 32 targets/animals to discover and hit ;)
If your children want to ride, help out, or take a ride on the tractor, just come up to us ON-SITE :)

We can absolutely recommend Ingrid’s campsite. We had the spot right at the front on the left as you enter. A magnificent view of the valley, including a perfect sunset. The shower, toilet, and washing machine are in a separate room, with a small kitchen right behind it. Everything was perfect for us. The frog in the cistern does croak every now and then... but it didn’t bother us at all. Ingrid is a very nice and friendly host. The Weißmühle restaurant down in the village comes highly recommended. We had three wonderful days. Thank you for letting us be your guests.
Very friendly and attentive hosts. A beautiful campsite—level and right next to the riding arena—with a great view. Everything was just as described.
The hosts are such lovely people and very helpful. It’s wonderfully peaceful here, surrounded by horses that you can watch. Beautiful views and relaxing walks with the dog. We’ll definitely be back. Many thanks and best regards, Heike
Beautiful place with a great view. Unfortunately, there were no signs anywhere, so we couldn't find the bathroom. We were only there for one night, but it was still annoying.
