Das Haus am See - slow living and eco travel

Welcome to the house by the lake!

Our small hideaway is a renovated maisonette architect house from 1964 with open gallery, free-standing bathtub, Swedish stove, large wooden terrace and wonderful green garden.

It is furnished with furniture made of natural materials, selected vintage pieces and ceramics, among other things. Our focus is on slow living and eco travel.

The Haus am See is an owner-run accommodation with a lot of attention to detail.

The Haus am See is located in the middle of a small community of settlers at the Ellertshäuser Lake in the middle of nature. 1200 square meters of garden space belong to the house. It is wonderful to do yoga in the garden, pick raspberries or lavender, or just let the sun shine on your belly.

The 6 ha Ellertshäuser bathing lake with beach, kiosk, restaurant, sailing and boat rental is only a few minutes walk away.

In nearby villages you can still find traditional farm stores and bakeries with their own bakery.

The feeling when you enter the house on the lake is wonderful lightness. All living areas - except bedroom and toilet - are open. From morning to evening the sun shines on the 20 sqm wooden terrace.

We love interior design. Kitchen ceramics, vases and lamp in the bedroom are from Motel a Mio, there are selected vintage pieces from the 60s, all pillows are self-sewn. In the bedroom all materials are untreated - organic wall paint from Kolorat, the untreated organic V-bed from Tojo, mattress and sleeping accessories from COCO-MAT.

Two bicycles are available for our guests to use free of charge. With them you can wonderfully cycle to bakeries and farm stores in the vicinity, or simply turn a round around the lake.
