Sunny meadow in solitary location only 20 min. to Lake Constance

This well-maintained lawn, available exclusively to one camper, is part of the property surrounding our house (a former forester’s lodge); it measures over 500 square meters and is mowed weekly. Located on the outskirts of Engen (Konstanz district)—1 km from the town center—it offers a unique view of Engen and the Hohenhewen. Since 2023, we have provided a paved path on our meadow for a weather-proof camping spot. Due to their size, converted tour buses may reach their—and our—limits when accessing the site.

Lake Constance is a 15–20-minute drive away, and the train ride (RE or Seehas) takes barely any longer (Radolfzell to Engen in 19 minutes or more). You can reach the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen by car in just under 30 minutes.

You can start a short hike to the Engen Ice Age Park or the new, extensive “Hegau Volcano Tour” premium hiking trail right here in Engen.

You can also set off right from our place by bike—for example, toward Lake Constance—on quiet side roads through beautiful natural scenery. For the return trip, the train connection mentioned above is a great alternative. The Engen Water Park is just a 5-minute bike ride away.

Despite our rural location, there are plenty of shopping options nearby (farm stand 400 m, supermarkets 1–2 km).

Our own fire pit by the house—with a swivel grill or just the fire bowl—can be used free of charge, including firewood. We can fill bottles with drinking water for you. Outside, you have access to our cistern (rainwater) via a hose. There is no toilet or shower on site. However, you can use the Hegau West rest stop, located 400 m away, for a fee. Check-in is available from 2:00 p.m., and check-out is by 1:00 p.m.

Electric cars can be charged during the day at our wall box in the carport for a fee of 30 cents per kWh. A 230V outdoor outlet in the carport can be used for 4€ per day.
