  • We were lucky enough to be the only ones on the grounds that first evening—it was an absolute dream. Surrounded by mountains and alpine meadows, this is exactly what you’d hope for when camping in the countryside. If you like self-sufficient camping and spacious sites, Johannes is the perfect choice. We’ll definitely be back—100%

  • A super laid-back, spacious site with well-maintained and clearly marked campsites. The host stopped by briefly again in the evening, took care of the surprisingly comfortable restroom, and was very nice. The only thing is that the description of the train tracks is a bit of an understatement. The tracks are right next door, but hardly any trains ran at night, so it wasn’t as disruptive as I’d feared—though it’s certainly not a secluded idyll either. Definitely recommended for a stopover or a few nights.

  • A beautiful campsite with a panoramic mountain view. You can hear the train tracks nearby, but it’s not really bothersome. Ideal for 1–2 nights.

  • We stayed there with our rooftop tent, and the site offers a beautiful view! Fresh water is available in the courtyard; the well shown in the pictures does not provide drinking water. The dry toilet was in good condition, and it’s a nice place overall. The only downside is the train, so this spot isn’t recommended for guests who are sensitive to noise.

  • A wonderful spot as a starting point for cyclists and hikers. There’s plenty of space and a breathtaking view in every direction! Communicating with Johannes was completely hassle-free and quick. We’ll definitely be back—if only to maybe meet the beaver 🦫…

  • Our interaction with Johannes was pleasant and straightforward. The restroom was clean and well-maintained. There was water available in the courtyard, just a few meters away. The railroad tracks are quite close by; trains start running at 5 a.m. They aren’t very loud, but light sleepers might hear them. Beautiful mountain views—a fantastic spot to watch the solstice bonfires. Dog-friendly.

  • Great location, beautiful view. Everything was clean, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed a lovely bonfire in the evening! 😊

  • A lovely campsite with a stunning mountain backdrop. A very friendly host. Earplugs are recommended, as the nearby railroad tracks are quite noticeable.

  • A really lovely spot with a fantastic view—perfect for daydreaming and relaxing 🏔️🌄 Everything is perfectly set up with fire pits and wood for a cozy evening by the campfire 🔥😊 We also received a warm welcome from the host on site. Thanks, Johannes 🙋🏼‍♂️

  • Nice contact. The place is suitable for transit.

  • A simple, peaceful spot

  • We were alone at the campsite, just passing through. A mown meadow by a small stream. The train passes by regularly, which didn't bother us at all. We felt very comfortable and would stay here again at any time!

  • The communication was great, the pitch was also very nice. However, it is important to know that the pitch is located directly next to the railroad tracks where freight trains pass by at night. This woke us up a few times in the roof tent.

  • It's a beautiful spot, and the beaver actually made an appearance. It's just a little hard to find once it gets dark.

  • Place as described. Super view! Gladly again.

  • It's a meadow next to a busy railroad line - you can stand here comfortably and relaxed, but it's not "quiet". The toilet is a dry separation toilet - a good solution in itself, but it seems to need some explanation for the other people. During our visit, it was blocked and unfortunately there was no brush or similar to clean it. We would still stay here again if we came to the area.

  • Everything went smoothly. Very nice hosts. We had a wonderful time, and the view is breathtaking.

  • The pitch was perfectly OK for self-sufficient standing and spending the night. But nothing more. Pros: great view, lots of space, easy to handle. Cons: relatively heavy train traffic. You might have to think again about the price, as no service is possible.

  • Beautifully situated by a stream with a magnificent view of the Steinerne Meer. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you should know that regional, long-distance and freight trains pass by regularly. Contrary to what was previously communicated, the respective pitches were not parceled out by higher grass as in the pictures and also the "fountain" was in the end operated with a pump in its own water and therefore only decoration. There are no facilities on site, so we found the €25 per night rather high. However, the natural scenery is really worth seeing.

  • Fast and uncomplicated. The train in the background is a bit loud, but bearable.

  • Beautiful place with a really good view!

  • The pitch was great, nice and big with a fantastic view; Johannes was very obliging and friendly. From the campsite you can also make great tours with a simple bike (Maria Alm, Zell am See). We felt very comfortable :)

  • We would love to come back!

  • Beautiful place and top hosts. Great tips for hiking. Super friendly! We will be back.
