Bernd is a very warm and welcoming host. The location is very quiet and offers beautiful views. There are hiking trails nearby. The food we tried on Bernd’s recommendation was excellent. We highly recommend this spot—we’d love to come back.
Great place with a very friendly host! Bernd helped us to find a nice restaurant, we could use the indoor area with a kitchen, bathroom, toilets and a living, which was very nice with the rain. Thank you!!
Perfect location as a starting point for various hikes and other outdoor activities. Bernd, the host, took care of every little detail from start to finish to make you feel at home. Definitely not the last time here! :)

The time with Bernd on the meadow was absolutely beautiful and relaxing! Bernd gave us a very warm welcome and even drove us personally to the nearest butcher so that we could try the best Thuringian bratwurst from Schmalkalden! We would highly recommend a stay with Bernd and will definitely be back soon. Our dogs also felt very comfortable! Many thanks again! :-)

We had a wonderful time here. You are in the middle of nature and can still walk into town. A very nice host and everything a camper's heart desires. Can be recommended without reservation.
Bernd is a very friendly and open host. The pitch is located on a large meadow in the garden of a property slightly above the town of Schmalkalden. We had a relaxing time among the fruit trees and were able to enjoy nature and birdsong. There are two clean toilets and a shower in the spacious outbuilding with two lounges. It is an idyllic 10-15 minute walk along the Schmalkalde to the town center. Our communication with Bernd in advance was also extremely friendly and understanding.
Very nice idyllic pitch on the edge of the village, surrounded by fruit trees and directly adjacent to the fields. The bathroom is really excellent and we were offered all the amenities. The region really has a lot to offer. Bernd is a fantastic host and is always concerned about the well-being of his guests! Many thanks for that. We will certainly be back...

Bernd's dream place is located on a kind of cliff on the edge of and above Schmalkalden. The stream rushes below, the woodpecker flies over the meadow, local songbirds give concerts in the morning and evening, the converted shed has a bathroom with toilet and shower/bathtub and a really large, cozy lounge. Bernd is a very warm and sociable host, which was not because he also owns a BMW boxer :-) I arrived with my motorcycle and tarp, but Bernd decided that I shouldn't sleep outside, but in the converted shed, so that I could enjoy a 5-star overnight stay. Unfortunately, I was just passing through and only stayed one night. I would camp here again at any time, even on the meadow ;-) and then probably also use the barbecue area. Bernd's Wiese mit Weitblick am Thüringer Wald is a beautiful spot above the charming half-timbered town of Schmalkalden. This gem invites you to hike in a magnificent landscape and unspoiled nature. Dogs are particularly welcome here and can enjoy a wonderful run in the fenced-in meadow. If you are looking for relaxation and peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place for you. Bernd and his wife are excellent, warm and very helpful hosts. Bernd is also very happy to give tips for excursions, places of interest, hiking routes, shopping opportunities and much more. The separate toilet and bathroom with shower and toilet provided are very clean and the common rooms, which you are allowed to use, were heated and cozy. We particularly enjoyed the natural surroundings and the friendliness of the people, so we will definitely be back. Once again, a big thank you to Bernd for the great week in the Thuringian Forest.

Bernd is an outstanding (!) host who did everything to make our stay a perfect success. The pitch is just perfect: beautiful location close to the beautiful town of Schmalkalden, an environment that challenges you to go hiking and cycling, gastronomy in the immediate vicinity, great sanitary facilities... We will definitely come back and enjoy the Thuringian Forest (certainly with Bernd's support) RIGHT NOW! Many thanks for everything!!!
It was a perfect long weekend to relax. Bernd is the perfect host - friendly, courteous, flexible and he has lots of interesting things to say. The place is simply fantastic and there is absolutely nothing missing! A great view, the opportunity to be out and about in nature and just a short walk to the shops - it couldn't be better! We don't even need to mention the luxury of the pool right on the property ;) It was definitely not the last time we were there and I can recommend a trip to Bernd in Thuringia to anyone!
Very nice place.Bernd is very helpful and showed us everything!There are two bathrooms and for bad weather a large lounge available!Top,We had to cancel our vacation unfortunately because of fever,but we will definitely come back again!It is highly recommended!
A very nice place with bathroom and separate toilet. A pool can also be used. Bernd gave us a great welcome and briefing. He gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and tips on where to buy things. Thank you for the great time. We would love to come back.

We had a wonderful time with Bernd. The location is great, it's quiet and you have a wonderful panoramic view. Bernd was always there for us and we had a lot of fun. There are many beautiful destinations in the area: Schmalkalden, Wartburg Castle, Dragon Gorge etc. We would love to come back.
My wife, our children and I spontaneously stayed with Bernd for a night. The description of the place is absolutely accurate, Bernd and his family are wonderful hosts and we are already looking forward to the next time!
The pitch was great. Everything was very well maintained and very quiet. The view over the hills and the pleasant gentle murmur of the Schmalkalde river let you relax immediately. The host is also very helpful and obliging and has lots of good tips if you want to go on an excursion in the Thuringian Forest. I can highly recommend staying there and would happily give it 10 out of 5 stars. :)
