Fussel on the Goš²š¾š„ Call me Fusselāanyone who knows my real name has earned it. Weāre usually out and about in a small group, mostly volunteer German Red Cross (DRK) members like myself, just as close to nature and just as weather-beaten (meaning: weāve gotten wet more often than weād like). Joining us is Marlinka, a former Romanian, well-behaved, dog-friendly, and totally open-minded toward other dogsābut shy to skeptical toward people, true to the motto āsniff first, judge later.ā Sheās always nice, thoughājust keeps a respectful distance. We travel in my small car, with a rooftop tent and a dry-separating toilet in the trunk, so that we really leave behind nothing but footprintsāno other traces. We sleep wherever it works out: sometimes in the rooftop tent, sometimes under the open sky, sometimes in a hammock, sometimes in a tent. Iām as flexible as a camp cot. We seek peace and relaxation, pay homage to nature, and let God take care of the rest. In the evenings, we have a campfire with plenty of charred bread on a stick, and if the sky cooperates, we keep an eye out for shooting starsāmaking wishes, of course, is a top priority. My day job is saving the world (at least bit by bit) as an emergency medical technician, so spending time outdoors is my favorite way to unwind from all the hustle and bustle.

Great group, very nice people. They left our campsite spotless.
