...a vacation destination for animal lovers and nature lovers Our donkey farm - our vision: A green, healthy learning and exercise environment The Eselhof-Wetterau offers a wide range of play and exercise activities for children. In our activity area for learning, crafting and playing, we create a pleasant atmosphere for young and old. Vacation programs and activity days with various themes will soon be taking place on the farm, covering contemporary history, fantasy themes or festivals to which young and old are invited. One year after we bought the farm, in 2016, the two donkeys, Lucy and Blacky, which we took over from Noteselhilfe e.V., moved in with us and quickly settled in. In 2021, another emergency donkey, our Leoni, moved in with us. We offer various donkey activities with our 3 long-eared donkeys. Donkey hikes, donkey sponsorships, donkey care, obtaining certificates, team events and forest explorations are on the program for our guests. The development of regular nature projects for kindergarten groups, primary school classes and children with disabilities is also on our agenda. In the coming years, more ideas will be implemented, as we would like to invite the whole family to relax and revel in the tranquillity of nature. We have also planted a herb and vegetable garden where local foods and spices are grown. At children's group events, our little guests can feel, guess and marvel at the feel boxes.

Very kid-friendly; the hosts were incredibly friendly—beyond our wildest expectations. Both donkeys are also incredibly tame and love kids! The nearby reservoir is wonderful, and there’s plenty of space at the donkey farm for the little ones to play badminton and run around. We’ll be back.
Very nice host family. Unfortunately we were late on arrival, but the hosts were very flexible. Thanks again for that! We felt very comfortable and the children were allowed to move around the whole property. They were allowed to use the existing toys, a real children's paradise! We were also provided with vegetables from our own garden: delicious! But the highlight was of course the three donkey ladies and Coco the chick. We will definitely be back again!
What a great place - super lovely hosts! We immediately felt at home! The welcome was very warm! The pitch right next to the donkeys - a dream! For dinner and when we said goodbye there were vegetables from the great garden! What more could you want! We will definitely be back! Best wishes to the whole family and of course the 3 donkey ladies!

Great hosts and beautiful pitch. We were there for one night and really enjoyed it. The children loved the donkeys and rabbits. Everything was very uncomplicated. We'd love to come again.
Very friendly hosts. You are right next to the donkey enclosure and the chickens and rabbits are only a few steps away. Our daughter was allowed to visit the animals at any time. At least one well-signposted and very varied hiking trail starts just a few meters from the donkey farm. It was a super relaxing weekend for us.
We received a warm and open welcome. Everything was taken care of. We felt welcome and very comfortable. It is wonderfully quiet and we found the clucking of the chickens and the sounds of the donkeys idyllic. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back here. Had a nice, quiet place with a view of the donkey meadow The host family is very friendly and accommodating. I felt very comfortable. Landscape around it is beautiful, lots to see, reservoir for swimming not far, with car..you need something to walk. In short....super👌
Even as guests without children we liked the place with the cute donkeys, great garden, nice family, you can hear the main road a little, but that didn't bother us, an idyllic place right on the Niddar cycle path
A beautiful spot on earth! We were warmly welcomed by the host parents. We were allowed to stand on a spacious meadow right in front of the cute donkeys. The children immediately felt at home and were allowed to move around freely and play with the things available on the farm. They were allowed to visit all the animals and feed some of them. Our two children also got on really well and played with the host children. We were also treated to freshly harvested vegetables from their own garden. We were lucky enough to have great weather when we were there and really enjoyed it! Everyone was super friendly to us and we would love to come back anytime! Very clear recommendation from our side! 😊
A super nice pitch right next to the three cute donkeys. We received a very warm welcome, were given cucumbers from the garden and had a lovely, relaxing time. The donkeys, chickens and rabbits were of course an absolute highlight for our daughter. Thank you very much 😊
A great weekend with cool donkeys. The pitch is big enough and the area is quiet and inviting for hiking or mountain biking. The hosts are super nice and accommodating.

Great pitch directly on the donkey run. Super nice hosts and equally nice donkeys. Overall a round thing... have felt comfortable from the beginning and were sad that we had to go on the next noon. We will definitely come by again at times.

Carmen, her farm and her family are very friendly and accommodating people. I recommend this place for all animal and nature lovers who want to spend a few days away from the stress of everyday life.
Booked at short notice, contact very good. I made a weekend trip with my 8-year-old daughter. The reception was very friendly and the briefing helpful and straightforward. We have stood directly and really within reach to the donkey pasture. Carmen and Jens, together with their children, spontaneously took my daughter to a small nearby festival. Of course, this must fit, thank you again for that. And the next morning at breakfast the decelerating view of the donkeys... Who likes animals, peace and nice hosts is in good hands here. We have had a very nice pitch with a view of the "Esel Gang". If you just want to enjoy nature and tranquility, this is absolutely the right place. Carmen and Jens are mega nice hosts. We will definitely book the Eselhof another time. Thank you for the wonderful time.
We spent a night on the donkey farm and were welcomed friendly as well as uncomplicated. The donkeys, as direct neighbors, were a special experience for our children, but also the many chickens and rabbits. Thank you for letting us spend the night on this beautiful spot 😊
