I’ve been an avid VW bus camper for many years and have enjoyed countless wonderful trips—often with my family. Now I’d like to share my passion for camping and nature with others as a host. I’m a nature lover—friendly, open-minded, and helpful. Treating each other and nature with respect and care is second nature to me. Dorte was kind, attentive, and friendly, but I’m afraid the place wasn’t as described. Based on the description, we expected a bucolic idyll (a barn by the river, in a meadow), but it’s nothing like that at all. It’s a small patch of scraggly grass right under a noisy highway that kept us up all night (and wasn’t muffled by the trees as described). Half the grass is off-limits—I assume it belongs to someone else. The barn is also off-limits; there’s nowhere to go or anything of interest on the property, and the river is outside the padlocked gates and not part of the property. I honestly thought we were heading for a little taste of rural life near a city. It’s not. I think €20 is way overpriced for what it is. Please be more careful about what is described in the listing. We were sadly disappointed. Host’s response: Thank you very much for the feedback. It’s a shame that your expectations weren’t met. However, we’d like to correct a few statements, as we believe they give a false impression of the campsite. The listing explicitly describes the site as conveniently located and near a major road. It is a two-lane main road (county road), not a highway. Due to ongoing construction in Ulm, traffic volume is currently higher than usual. The campsite itself is approximately 150 m² in size, fenced on three sides, and offers plenty of privacy as well as an unobstructed view of our neighbor’s meadow. The barn is explicitly identified as such in the description and serves as our storage space—it is not a lounge area for guests. The Blau is less than 10 meters from the property and separated only by a narrow bike path. Guests can open the gate themselves and, of course, leave it open. It is true that the lawn was a bit sparse in places after the very hot and dry summer. Otherwise, in our view, the conditions match the description and the photos in the listing. Of course, everyone has different ideas about what a campsite should be like. We respect that this site did not meet your personal expectations. However, given the actual conditions, we cannot understand the description of the experience as “very disappointing” or the claim that the accommodation does not match the description. For €20, including electricity, we intentionally offer a simple, nature-oriented, and private campsite—not a traditional camping facility.
Dörte was very accommodating and super friendly. The site is beautiful, and electricity seems to be included. We didn’t need any electricity. The site is shielded from prying eyes. There’s plenty of space. Unfortunately, you can hear the highway quite clearly, especially when trucks and tractors drive by. The bushes and trees don’t muffle the noise here. A very large Edeka supermarket is a 15-minute walk away. Unfortunately, the privacy wasn’t quite what we’d hoped for, since a small barbecue was taking place on the property. My dog and I felt right at home and enjoyed our stay. There was electricity, too... I'd definitely come back. Thank you so much again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dörte's campground. It had everything you need for camping. The staff was very friendly. It's a wonderful place to go for a walk or a bike ride. You can enjoy the peace and quiet, or be in town in just a few minutes. We highly recommend this campground as a place to unwind.
Great spot—quiet and secluded. That said, I should mention that it’s located next to an expressway. It’s not really a drawback for me, and I know I’m just nitpicking, but I still would have liked to know about it.
A very welcoming, spacious, and very well-maintained campsite. Electricity is available on-site. Close to walking trails, parks, and the city center, yet well-secured for privacy and quiet. The side road running by didn’t disturb us during our activities or while we slept. We spent 2 nights and 2 days at the site and felt very comfortable and welcome. We highly recommend this campsite and are certain we’ll be back. Zheko and Ina
There were two of us traveling in a car with a rooftop tent. We really enjoyed our stay. We especially liked that we were the only ones at the campsite, so we had plenty of space. We used the fire pit with the firewood provided on-site. Overall, the campsite is very well-equipped and charmingly set up. Definitely worth a visit.
We felt very comfortable at this beautiful, nature-filled campsite. The site is located on a meadow and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay: an electrical hookup, an outdoor shower, and even a fire pit with firewood—we didn’t use the firewood, but we thought it was a lovely touch. The location is especially great: From here, we could reach downtown Ulm in no time at all while still enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside. A small stream flows nearby, where you can cool your feet in the warm weather. Dörte and Andi welcomed us personally at the campsite and gave us some great tips for day trips. We felt very welcome and would love to come back.
