Our second Hinterland Tour, and once again it was fantastic. Uwe wasn’t there when we arrived, but he had explained very clearly where we were allowed to go. Here’s a quick note about that: You can’t turn around, so you should be able to back up properly. We got a great gift from Uwe—homemade fig jam—which we haven’t tried yet. The campsite is on Uwe’s property; there’s water, electricity, and a guest bathroom in the house. We were simply given a key, so we could use the restroom whenever we wanted. What a vote of confidence! 😍 On Saturday, Uwe and his wife were there. Very pleasant hosts! In the evening, after we’d watched all the soccer games we could, Uwe even got the sauna ready for us. We fell into bed completely relaxed. In our opinion, Hamm itself doesn’t have much to offer besides the Kissinger Höh and the Vanillia ice cream shop, but we didn’t care. We had two pleasant nights in the RV!
The parking spot is very conveniently located right on a busy main road, in a driveway in front of the house. You’re nicely tucked between the house wall and the hedge, but it’s still possible to get out of the vehicle. Since you can’t turn around in the driveway and have to back out, it’s a good idea to have a second person with you to help guide you into the moving traffic on the main road. We ended up choosing a different parking spot after all. It’s a shame about the money—unfortunately, it was gone because the Hinterland app requires you to pay in advance before you’ve even seen the parking spot.
The trip and my stay with Uwe went very smoothly. Everything was just as described in the ad.
It was a lovely and relaxing stay. The host was very friendly, and the sauna was our personal highlight.
Uwe was there with his niece. The guests were relaxed, and they left the Wowa clean. We'd love to come back anytime.
