We had a wonderful time staying with Stefan! The mountain views were simply breathtaking, and the host was extremely kind and helpful; communication was also smooth and hassle-free. Since it got pretty cold and snowed, we could always warm up in the cabin or, if necessary, even sleep there or meet up for a social get-together—for example, over some Romanian schnapps left by previous guests 😄 Greetings also to Marius and his family 🤗 Using the sauna was the icing on the cake in the cold weather. Our dog also felt right at home and had no problem with Stefan’s dogs. The fridge was stocked with both personal and regional products, some of which we happily took home with us at the end. It’s also perfect for emergencies when you’re short on bread or other small items—a great touch! Overall, you have everything you need, and we had a wonderful time. We’d love to come back 😊

What a fantastic campsite! Thanks for everything
Everything was great! We really enjoyed our time with Stefan. The view is simply breathtaking…

A wonderful experience, amazing views, and a super-friendly host. Everything was very relaxed.

I highly recommend this campground! The stunning views and peaceful setting made our stay an unforgettable experience. We had the pleasure of bringing our dog along, and it was simply fantastic that the owner, Stefan, also has two dogs. The dogs hit it off right away, and our dog had great playmates. Another highlight was the sauna and the beautiful swimming pond, which were perfect for relaxing. On the last day, we had the campground all to ourselves, which gave us the chance to truly unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. It was especially nice that I got to celebrate my birthday there. It was simply magical and made this special day unforgettable. Thank you so much!

Anyone who immediately thinks of gruff Mölltal locals when they hear “aggressive mountain folk” has probably never visited Stephan. Our stay, in any case, charmingly debunked that internet cliché—with plenty of humor, warmth, and a healthy dose of calm. The drive there? Let’s call it… a little adventure. A narrow forest road, an incline, a few hairpin turns—doable with our 6.20-meter camper, but not for the faint of heart. For larger vehicles, the rule is: either bring some courage or just let Stephan handle it. As an experienced professional driver, he’ll confidently get your vehicle to its destination if needed. Once you’re there, it’s time to sit back and enjoy. No electricity, no shower—but honestly, you won’t miss either of those things here. The view of nature and the relaxed atmosphere more than make up for it. Instead of luxury, there’s campfire romance, a sauna on request, and convivial evenings with your host and (sometimes spontaneously appearing) neighbors. Stephan himself is the epitome of calm: always relaxed, helpful, and with a twinkle in his eye. Whether it’s heating up the sauna, setting up the grill, or simply offering a cool drink by the fire—he makes sure you feel welcome without ever feeling intruded upon. Bottom line: Three campsites, plenty of open space, and even more warmth. If you want peace and quiet, you’ll find it—if you’d like to socialize, you’ll make friends in no time. And the “aggressive mountain folk”? They turn out to be a pretty nice bunch, at the latest when you’re sharing a beer together. Thanks for the great time—we’ll be back! Best regards, Anke and Andreas

The place is absolutely beautiful, and Stefan is super nice and easygoing!
Highly recommended! Waking up at 1,800 meters with this view was an unforgettable experience. We were the only ones up there and were able to enjoy the night in complete peace and surrounded by nature. Stefan is also very friendly, and his two dogs—who spontaneously joined us on our hike—were absolutely wonderful!
Hi Stefan, it was great to meet you at your farm. We had perfect weather and spent two nights at the alpine pasture. The view was unique, and the marmots were a nice sight to see while we were eating. Given the altitude and the climb with the camper (6 m), it all comes down to the weather. You definitely need some driving skills—the last kilometer is on forest gravel, so you have to drive accordingly, but overall it’s just very steep. The little pond and the absolute tranquility were a dream. The hike up to Mohar is a dream; we didn’t meet a single person along the entire 8 km—just curious mountain animals. We’re leaving the alpine pasture as newly engaged! Thanks, Stefan!

We were absolutely thrilled—with our host Stefan, his warm personality, and the whole experience. Although we unfortunately didn’t make it all the way to the actual parking spot at the alpine pasture (snow and summer tires don’t mix very well), he kindly let us park right on his farm without any fuss. That was incredibly kind and helpful—we want to thank you again for making that possible for us. The absolute highlight: On Easter Sunday, he took us up to the alp so we could still see and experience it. And what can we say—the view was simply spectacular! 🌄 There, we were warmly welcomed not only by him, but also by his family, neighbors, and friends. We spent a truly convivial afternoon together. We were also treated to some culinary delights: We got to try what was probably the best Leberkäse in the area, as well as homemade bread—simply incredibly delicious! The animals on the farm created a special atmosphere: cows, sheep, and two super-sweet dogs.🐶 In addition to lots of cuddles with the pups, we got to witness the cows’ first real grazing of the year and the sheep feeding early in the morning. This is exactly how you imagine life in the mountains. Enjoying your free time to the fullest after a day’s work. 🍻 To top it all off, we received excursion tips and help with route planning for the rest of our trip. We’ll definitely be back! The campsites on the alpine pasture are breathtakingly beautiful, and we’d love to enjoy them to the fullest again someday. Thank you so much for this special time! 🙏

What an incredible place! Unfortunately we didn't meet Stefan, but he showed us the way with messages and by phone and made sure we had everything we needed. We definitely want to come back. Danger of addiction!

Stefan der Alm Öhi is a really great host. Very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. Your friend from Franconia :)
The nicest Almöhi I have ever met! Everything was great and just as described. I would love to come back ♡ I had an unforgettable time.
Stefan as host is super friendly and sociable. We felt right at home here! In the afternoon we enjoyed the mega view of the mountains and in the evening we heated up the fire barrel together with Stefan and the other two campers and used the sauna and the bathing pond. The Alm is great!!! We will definitely be back!!! Sandra&Thomas
Mega beautiful pitch with a fantastic view. Very nice host with loving dogs. We didn't miss anything and will definitely be back next year.
Here you get that wild camping feeling. The best way to get here from Germany is via the Felbern Pass and enjoy the view. The approach to the alpine pasture is exciting (serpentines and forest road) but easily doable. You should already have winter tires from October (as a precaution). There is a beautiful bathing pond, a wood-fired sauna and a toilet (summer), outhouse (winter). There is also a large fire bowl and a barbecue area. Otherwise, self-catering is the order of the day. Stefan is a great host with whom you can also have a good chat. Internet reception is 2 bars at best. Ideal for going offline. Dogs are also allowed. We will definitely be back.
We had a fantastic stay in amazing scenery. What an exceptional place this is! Thank you Stefan!
I was actually thinking about whether I should write a review or whether I'd rather keep this spot to myself ;) Really an absolutely fantastic location! Beautifully secluded and a mega view. Everything you need is there, toilet, sauna, small pond to cool off, campfire spot. Absolutely fantastic. We would love to come back!
A fantastic pitch next to the alpine pasture with a breathtaking view. You can go on beautiful hikes in the immediate vicinity and enjoy the idyllic surroundings. Stefan is a super uncomplicated, helpful and friendly host. This was not our last time here :) Thank you for the wonderful time!
We had a fantastic evening with Stefan. Both the adults and the children got their money's worth. Stefan and his family are super warm and incredibly hospitable - and the view is unbeatable! Thank you very much! We'll see you again :)
A fantastic place from a very nice host. Ideal for switching off completely. Thank you for your great hospitality, we will definitely see you again.
