A really lovely, idyllic spot—I hear they serve a great BBQ on Saturdays and Sundays! The shower and dishwashing area were a bit overgrown, and one of the toilets was clogged.
The site is in a beautiful location, but unfortunately (probably due to the weather) the restaurant wasn’t open on Sunday evening. We weren’t counting on it anyway and had brought everything we needed :-) There wasn’t a soul around. Tip: Just before the building (see photos), turn right and go to the end of the field; there’s a metal gate there that you can open yourself to enter the grounds. The bathroom container with toilets and a sink area was great! We skipped the shower. We’ll be back! Thanks
We only stayed one night. The grounds are beautiful and very well-maintained. We had no trouble finding the place. The reason we’re not giving it 5 stars is that the restrooms were very dirty. We think that’s a real shame. Thank you.

Miriam’s campsite is in a great location and offers plenty of space for kids to play and run around right by the river. The restroom facilities were very basic, which doesn’t usually bother us—they were clean enough. What we hadn’t quite expected was the number of campers on the site. Just before Easter, there were about 10 to 15 vehicles there. The photos suggest a bit more peace and quiet, and the Hinterland description also states that there are only 4 spots available on-site. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get electricity for our stay either, which we actually rely on for our battery-less camper. When we spoke with the owner, he said we had to give at least one day’s notice, though this wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the description and wasn’t communicated to us. When we then spontaneously decided to stay just one night after all, we simply got the €20 for the second night back in cash. With all that in mind, we can still recommend the site, especially because of its beautiful location.
Great campsite right by the river with a large lawn and a playground/soccer goal for the kids. It’s great that it’s so close to the town of Borghetto.
Such a nice hostess! The perfect spot for anyone who can set up independently. We’ll definitely stop by again on our next trip to Italy.
Unfortunately, I can't say much about Miriam—I have to agree with the previous commenter. We hadn't made any prior contact. We just went on a whim, and a very nice staff member welcomed us. In the end, everything worked out great. The location is fantastic, and the food is really excellent. So 👍🏻—and as far as we're concerned, we'd definitely love to come back anytime!!
Spacious, very tidy site right on the river. Toilets in order. Nice place, but quite close to a road.
There was no contact with Miriam. She did not respond to any emails in advance. Nor on the spot to phone calls. That's why I can't rate Miriam. Once her mother-in-law was at the place for 2 minutes. It would have been very helpful if the advertisement had stated that you could simply open the gate on which l'ortica stands and drive in. At first I had some inhibitions. And that the really beautiful idyllic place is located on the extensive grounds of a BBC restaurant, which is open on Saturday/Sunday. On the 2nd day I saw someone working there who I was able to ask for the WiFi password. The WLAN worked best the closer you got to the building. Otherwise the place is nice and quiet. The sanitary facilities are containers but ok. There was really hot water coming out of the tap in the toilet. The place is worth a trip. I was there in September and you have to know that there is probably high humidity at night because of the proximity to the river. Everything outside is soaking wet in the morning. But if you know that, you can adjust to it.
We felt very comfortable and spent a night on this beautiful meadow by the river. The property is very lovingly designed and there is everything you need. In the evening it's worth taking a walk to Borghetto in the cute old town. We sat right by the river and enjoyed the homemade tortellini (even gluten-free!!!). In Valeggio there is a bakery with gluten-free treats, a little paradise! Only open in the morning! Dear hostess, we will be back! Thank you very much.

Quiet location by the river, lots of space and only a few meters away from a cute place where you can eat well. Toilet and shower were okay.
Wonderful little-used spot. Sanitary facilities are okay, but you have to shower outside. Everything else is perfect. Unfortunately the pizzeria was closed, but that didn't detract from the experience. Gladly and definitely again
A super nice place. Very nice hostess. Beautiful location right on the river. Clean. WC is in the container and the shower is an outdoor shower. "OK" clean. Unfortunately everything was!!!! full of little fly animals. It was extreme!!! You can't swim in the river because the current is too dangerous. We had imagined something different. We left after one night.

Great place, sanitary facilities ok. Electricity would be perfect. Path to the beautiful village at the top a bit adventurous on foot (not recommended in the dark). Too bad we couldn't try the restaurant as it was closed at the time we were there. But that was just bad luck.
The place is great. Unfortunately the sanitary facilities were very dirty and were only cleaned on our departure. (We were there for 2 nights). We can't say much about the hostess as there was no contact. All in all, however, we can recommend the accommodation. The river is less suitable for swimming due to the current.

A beautiful pitch right next to a river. There is enough space to spread out. Toilets and an outdoor shower are available. We were happy about the "cooler" temperatures (23 degrees) at night. Must be due to the river location. 3 minutes away by car is a cozy place with many restaurants. We recommend the Pizzeria Galleto. 😌 Will definitely come back on our next vacation in Italy. The location is just perfect if you're heading south.
The site is beautiful and very well maintained. It was very welcoming as soon as we arrived. The hosts are very uncomplicated and helpful. The only drawback was the many mosquitoes in the evening, which is unavoidable right next to a river. All in all a great place, we will definitely be back :-)
Beautiful spot with lots of potential. However, nobody from the operator was available or on site, so you have to find your own way around on arrival. The main point deduction is for the sanitary facilities: one toilet was still in order, but the second was unusable and both looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for a long time. We're really not squeamish about this, but we haven't seen anything like it for a long time. With around ten campers on site and €20 per night, regular cleaning would be expected. Especially in the heat, we would have liked to freshen up - but in this state, we decided not to.
Very laid-back and super friendly. The food was great, too, and the atmosphere was incredibly idyllic. We’ll definitely be back.
Unique, dreamlike location. We were there on the way there and back and were able to leave the stress of everyday life behind us. Any time again!

We had already been here after our first visit on the way there and then stayed here on the way back for a total of 4 nights because it is simply beautiful. You can drive to Lake Garda in just a few minutes and then sleep with a perfect view of the river. The restaurant is open at the weekend, so it can be a bit busy until 11pm, but it's not bad at all! On the 2nd morning, a local angler fought a 20 kg catfish out of the river, the fish kept jumping, frogs croaked, donkeys grumbled and an owl with a speech impediment always had something to say. You're in a perfect spot with nature all around you. We will definitely be back. 👍🏻
A fantastically beautiful place to stay right by the river. Toilets and showers are simple but available and perfectly adequate. We would love to come back.
Truly a wonderful spot on earth... ❤️🇭🇺 The site is very well maintained, the restaurant serves down-to-earth cuisine (only) at weekends. Toilets and showers (cold!) are rustic but adequate. We can definitely come back! ❤️😀 Oh yes: be sure to pack earplugs, otherwise the frogs by the river will get on your last nerve at night... 😉
Beautiful site on the river. Generally quiet and not overcrowded for us. Unfortunately, a wedding was taking place on the neighboring property during our visit. It was therefore very loud. The wedding looked great though. 😅(small island). Hosts friendly, drinks good. BBQ could be improved. (Cold) WC was okay, shower like the BBQ. Otherwise it was a really nice place.
