The Hinterland booking wasn’t finalized until we were already there, after we had called. The site is very hard to find, and the road isn’t passable for larger vehicles—especially in bad weather—or is only passable with good off-road experience. The location is very picturesque, and the people are very friendly. We had a very peaceful stay, except for a herd of cows, with a picturesque view of the sea. Before your stay, you should be aware that soap, toilet paper, smoking, caffeine, alcohol, and anything non-vegan are not permitted or are extremely frowned upon. We had brought along certified organic biodegradable soap, but we were only allowed to use it with permission from someone outside the community. The composting toilets were very unhygienic, especially since hands are washed there only with ash and there is neither toilet paper nor a bidet. When we wanted to leave as planned, we had to pass through two locked gates, and furthermore, the only way out was blocked with barbed wire in such a way that we had to walk through the grounds to get back to the road. Anyone who can handle all of this will have a good time there. P.S.: I wanted to give one star, my companion four, so we’re giving the ecovillage three stars. It’s a wonderfully beautiful place, just a very different way of life (as the Hinterland description also suggests).
A wonderful place and a great starting point for beautiful hikes or a visit to Vieste, for example. Thank you, Patrizia, for the delicious meal! We’d love to come back.
Any time again. Quiet place left to nature without any frills. Difficult access, see pictures. Approach with campervan with max. height 3 meters, on a narrow path with narrow olive trees. You will be rewarded with a lot of peace and beautiful sea views.
A very quiet, idyllic, positive place in nature 🫶. I stood under olive trees in my VW bus. Patrizia lives here in a very natural and sustainable way. That's great. I was given a very warm welcome and was allowed to share meals with the other residents. Everything you need is there: Composting toilets, outdoor showers... I felt very comfortable and would love to come back. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for peace and quiet and wants to slow down. The place has a very good energy. The sea is just around the corner and can be reached on foot in 15 minutes - that's where civilization is again 😄. Don't rely on GoogleMaps. It's best to ask Patrizia to send you a link and give her a call so that she can guide you.
Quiet and beautiful place between olive trees. Gladly again.
