The place is very idyllic and quiet, surrounded by the forest. It’s just right for nature lovers like us. The hosts are very warm and welcoming; you immediately feel at home with them. The facilities are top-notch: the restroom and common area are clean, and everything you need is there. We’ll definitely be back.
The welcome was great, starting with a welcome drink. We had a little chat to get to know each other, followed by a tour of the grounds. The grounds exude a sense of calm, just like the hosts do. The swimming pond is an added delight. Everything you need for a successful getaway is there, such as ice cream, drinks, a refrigerator, and a clean restroom. I highly recommend it—the hosts even offer homemade brook trout! We’ll see you again next year.
Katja and Boni are such lovely hosts—we were welcomed very warmly with a cool refreshment! The whole property is absolutely beautiful and in a very quiet location. The little swimming lake was an absolute highlight in the heat. It was also great that we could store food in the fridge in the little cottage—our cooler would have failed miserably in those temperatures. It’s also great that you can buy ice cream and various drinks! We camped on the lawn, and during the day we had to keep moving around to find shade, but starting around 5 p.m., we had complete shade, and then the 37° became more bearable. One small suggestion we’d have is perhaps to put up a bit of privacy screening around the outdoor shower so you’re not quite so “on display”—since you can’t just wash up in the unisex restroom either.

We stayed with Katja and Boni at their gorgeous property from August 9–13, 2026. They gave us a warm welcome, and after a nice chat, we settled into our accommodations in the shade of a tree. We swam in the wonderfully cool pond, enjoyed delicious trout, and had many pleasant conversations with the two of them. Our dogs enjoyed the stay just as much as we did. This certainly won’t be our last visit to Katja and Boni.
We had a wonderful getaway at Katja and Bernd’s with our camper and our dog Luna. The campground is in a very idyllic setting, and the swimming pond is fantastic. Katja and Bernd are great hosts and run the campground with a lot of care. We’d love to come back!
Plenty of space, a beautiful lake, and a very warm welcome. The grilled trout is highly recommended. A lovely setting for hiking, mountain biking, and unwinding. We’d love to come back when the opportunity arises.

We’ve probably never been welcomed as warmly as we were by Katja and Boni—they’re the perfect hosts! The property is a little slice of paradise and has everything you need—simple, but very clean and functional. In colder weather, the solar shower might be the only challenge. ;-) The swimming lake is a dream, and both it and the surrounding area helped us relax. Katja and Boni prepared fresh trout from their own fish farm for us—highly recommended!
We couldn’t have found a nicer place for our little getaway. They’re both very warm and hospitable people—you can’t help but feel at home. Our dog was also given a very warm welcome and even got a treat when we left. The swimming lake was a real dream in this heat. We had a very nice, nature-filled campsite on the grounds of a trout farm. The site is located outside the village, in a very quiet spot along a hiking trail that runs beside a stream. The trail leads to a stone circle created by a sculptor and a small chapel with idyllic seating right by the stream. We were warmly welcomed by Katja and Boni and invited for a welcome drink. During our conversation, we learned a lot about life and work at a trout farm and chatted about everything under the sun. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience, and anyone looking for absolute peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings will be in excellent hands there. One of the highlights is the swimming pond, which also has restroom facilities and an outdoor shower. There’s also a refrigerator stocked with cold drinks and ice cream, which you can purchase from the hosts. All in all, it’s very laid-back and highly recommended. Thank you so much, dear Katja and Boni, for your hospitality—we’d love to come back.

Lovely place, lovely people. Very welcoming, we enjoyed our stay there! Katja and Berni showed us the hiking and activites around and we had a great time, sharing a drink and resting in their quiet and peacfull place !
A truly beautiful and idyllically situated spot. It has its own swimming lake and fresh trout (highly recommended). Everything you need is there: a restroom with a sink (for men, there’s even a separate stall with just a urinal), an outdoor shower with hot water (solar-powered) and a curtain, a dishwashing area with shared access to a fridge and freezer, electricity, great walking and hiking trails (beautiful and quite unique—all well-maintained and landscaped), and a dream for dog owners (especially with a Labrador)—the Trienzbachtal is simply perfect, especially if your dog loves the water... but above all, the hosts are totally laid-back, friendly, helpful... etc.—just super nice. It was a fantastic weekend, and it certainly won’t be our last there.....

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to with my dogs. Not only are the surroundings absolutely worth seeing, but so is the campsite itself. Many hosts could learn a thing or two from Katja and Bernd. The site is very well-maintained, beautifully situated on the edge of the forest with a swimming pond accessible directly from the site. On the campsite’s lawn, there’s a fishing cabin equipped with a refrigerator, a two-burner stove, and seating. There’s a solar-powered shower outside, and the restrooms are very, very clean. As I mentioned before—many hosts could learn a thing or two from them. Katja and Bernd are incredibly warm and welcoming people who make sure you have everything you need. In the evening, we had a barbecue together and had a really nice chat. We’re absolutely thrilled and will definitely visit them again! Katja Bernd Thanks for everything ♥️

Katja and Boni gave us a very warm welcome. They took plenty of time to show us around at a leisurely pace, offered us a cold drink, and we had some very nice conversations right from the start. Since a thunderstorm was forecast, they even let us spend the night in the little cabin—a wonderful and very thoughtful gesture for which we were very grateful. We found it especially convenient to be able to keep our food and drinks cool and even use the freezer. The outdoor shower in the garden is a true nature experience, and the large swimming lake is perfect for relaxing and swimming—simply beautiful. Katja and Boni are two incredibly kind, warm-hearted, and down-to-earth people. We felt completely at home and really enjoyed our lovely conversations. We’d love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend this place!
During the peak of the first record-breaking heat wave of 2026, we had a great camping weekend at Bernd and Katja’s place. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. It was much more pleasant there, surrounded by the valley, forest, and lake (23 degrees at breakfast there compared to 33 degrees in Frankfurt). They welcomed us with a drink and provided helpful tips about the campground and the surrounding area. They live in the house right on the campground. The camping area, lined with a row of trees, has shade in the morning and afternoon/evening and is relatively flat, making it ideal for pitching a tent. The swimming lake right next to the campground—a former trout pond constantly fed with cool, fresh water from the Trienzbach—is wonderful for swimming. In this artificial lake with a muddy bottom, adults can stand almost anywhere. There’s a ladder to get into the water; the bottom is a bit rocky at first, but you’ll find your way. We didn’t have any problems with mosquitoes. The campground also has a restroom building and a common room with a refrigerator and freezer, as well as a sink and two hot plates (no cookware provided). The freezer contained popsicles (billed via a tally sheet). We were happy to take advantage of this. Cold water plus an electric kettle made for good dishwater. Bernd recently set up a new solar shower that can be used outside at the edge of the meadow (with tap water). In addition to the lake, there are a few smaller ponds with carp and rainbow trout. Flowing between them is the Trienzbach stream, which we hiked along for quite a distance upstream on a hot day—wonderful! About a kilometer from the stream, you’ll find a mini-Stonehenge (“Circle of Water”), a grotto (for meditation), the upside-down tree “Wurzelino,” as well as a Kneipp pool and a barefoot trail. All of this is far away from roads and traffic. A real little paradise. We’d love to come back again.

A beautiful campground in a stunning location right next to the stream. Very quiet, surrounded by nature, and perfect for unwinding. We especially loved the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings for hiking and relaxing. The hosts, Katja and Boni, were incredibly warm and hospitable. The barbecue evening we shared with them was especially lovely—yet at the same time, we always felt we could retreat to our own space completely undisturbed. Just the right mix of a personal atmosphere and privacy. In addition to the stream, a real highlight was the unheated swimming pond with fresh stream water—wonderfully refreshing and definitely perfect on warm days. We also found the shared refrigerator very convenient. Overall, we felt completely at home—so much so that we booked right back for July and are already looking forward to our next stay!

I highly recommend Bernd and Katja. They are incredibly warm and laid-back—you feel right at home, just like visiting friends. Communication was super easy and friendly. The place is just as beautiful as described: quiet, well-kept, and the little lake is perfect for cooling off. The barbecue we shared was a real highlight and made the stay special. We had two really great, relaxing nights—it really doesn’t get any better than that.
Bernd and Katja are wonderful, welcoming hosts. The campsite is quiet and set in beautiful surroundings. We stayed longer than planned and really enjoyed the pond, the nearby hiking trails, and the barbecue we had together.

We had a wonderful weekend with friends. The Marienthal is fantastically beautiful, pure nature. In addition to the swimming pond, there was a paddle boat, a fridge to use and fresh fish. The hosts are real people of the heart. We felt at home at all times. We will definitely be back!
❤️🔥Schockverliebt❤️🔥 Not only in Marienthal, but also in Katja & Boni! These two really offer a pearl! Beautifully situated, right on the cycle/hiking trail. Facilities tip top 👌toilets clean & well maintained! The "scullery" is well equipped. In bad weather you can also make yourself comfortable there. Kettle, hob, fridge and a large table are available. A disused fish farm pond has been converted into a bathing pond. On request, Kaja quickly gutted and prepared a few freshly caught trout for us. Boni, the master of the grill, then completed the work🤤 We didn't find any peace and quiet, but that was down to our new friends and the bottle of ouzo 😉 but anyone looking for it and wanting it will definitely find it there!!! So.... I don't want to praise too much, it shouldn't always be fully booked😁 Thank you two for the great time we had with you! We will definitely be back 🤘
We were there with our dog and tent and the place is just great! The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. The swimming lake and the inflatable boat provided the necessary cooling on the warm day. Everything was super clean and tidy. We'd love to stay again!

We had a wonderful weekend with two incredibly warm hosts. We received a warm welcome as soon as we arrived - the host even had a barbecue for us and invited us to sit at the table. We talked about God and the world in a relaxed atmosphere and learned a lot about the history of the Mariental. Unique natural scenery, great conversations and simply incredibly nice people - absolutely recommendable!
It's a very special place - this Mariental in Dallau! Waking up to the sound of rippling water and chirping birds, long walks through the adjoining forest, relaxed reading by the fish ponds, walking to the small town for shopping - an ideal stop for us to recharge our batteries. Katja and Bernd were wonderful hosts: friendly, warm, welcoming and very relaxed. We felt welcome and could just be there! A real recommendation!

Well, what can I say, it doesn't get more than 5 stars. Absolutely to our taste, great circular hiking trails ideal for dog owners and hikers. Pitch right by the trout ponds or the lake, simply fantastic. Very well-kept sanitary facilities tip top, small lounge with hot water boiler, fridge and sink everything available. Really great hosts, everything is very direct and you immediately feel at home. We hope that not everyone reads this review, because we will definitely book again and hope for a free place. Wonderful and well-kept place in a beautiful valley. Absolutely great for hiking and relaxing in nature. Hosts very nice and helpful. The only thing we didn't like here was driving home ;-)

If there was a 6th star, I would gladly award it;) the two were simply indescribably nice. We were warmly welcomed with a shandy and my dog with a treat. We had the whole meadow to ourselves. The place is a wonderful spot 🫶🏼 The toilets were clean and a fire bowl was also sponsored. The four of us spent 2 very nice days with our motorhomes on Katja and Bernd's idyllic property. The two are super nice, uncomplicated, have made a brisk campfire and we could also buy trout for grilling, which we were also great! Plenty of hiking and biking trails in the immediate vicinity! Many thanks to Katja and Bonnie, it was very nice!

Bernd and Katja gave us a warm welcome and helpfully fulfilled all our wishes and questions. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Plenty of space, toilet, recreation room, a lake and more ... there is nothing missing. A great location for the first camping trip for my daughter and me. Katja and Bernd are super great hosts, contact was uncomplicated, very nice and always helpful. We (a couple with a dog) spent two nights there. The pitch is characterized by a great secluded location with the possibility to swim and barbecue. And of course we also tried their fresh trout - delicious! Toilet, guard facilities, recreation room, cold drinks, electricity, nice get-together etc. everything is possible. We liked it very much. It certainly wasn't the last time we were there!
The stay in the Odenwald with Katja and Bonnie was very pleasant. Surrounded by nature and beautiful, nearby excursion destinations such as the stream, barefoot path and art in the forest, the place is ideal for nature-loving families. I don't even know where to start. We were there for a weekend with our children, our dog in the van and our tent. Bernd and Katja are incredibly hospitable, helpful and friendly. Old breeding pools were available next to a swimming pond for splashing around. Bernd was kind enough to bring electricity to our pitch with a cable drum. It is wonderfully quiet there is right next to the forest and there is a beautiful circular path of about four kilometers, which is also great to walk with the children because there is always something to discover on the way. The toilet block is clean and well maintained. A supermarket is within easy walking distance, about 10 minutes. We felt incredibly comfortable there and will definitely be back. A super great place in fantastic surroundings with very nice hosts. The trout were extremely tasty and were lovingly prepared especially for us. It was also a fantastic stay for our dog. He was allowed to roam freely on the entire site. We can highly recommend the campsite.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you, it is wonderfully quiet and you can relax here. We arrived with 2 Womos for 4 + dog and were able to set ourselves up nicely. We were even allowed to use the small swimming lake on the site - a dream. You can also buy drinks for a small price in the room where you can wash up and sit - great idea. Highly recommended.
