Our hosts were super nice and very helpful. Unfortunately, our motorhome is a bit high and didn't fit through the barn. No problem. Great sanitary facilities, with shower. Highly recommended for lovers of horses (we saw some, by the way) and nature. We felt very comfortable with our dog. Delicious pizza was available in the village.

We stopped by the farm last year during our summer vacation. Definitely had a Western vibe :) Everything was great!
Our stay of 2 nights at the Rossberghof was ok overall. So why only three stars? Here is a little more about our background: We only knew Hinterland from a host perspective and it was our first booking from a guest perspective on a pitch via this platform. Maybe that's why we set a different standard for an offer/advertisement/pitch! However, when scrolling through the reviews here, some of the lowest ratings that coincide with our own experiences also appear from time to time. As I said: Overall, the farm is okay. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the account owner Andreas at all, but the landlady Karin greeted us personally, showed us around and gave us a hand maneuvering in the narrow (for large vehicles/carriages) open stable. The paths are almost all gravelled, which makes driving/running clean and easy. The bathroom is available around the clock in 20-30m across the yard in the main house, tiled and at least the shower has hot water. There is a small bakery in the village which is also open on Sundays (pastries are good, coffee is awful) and a small store with a bakery and butcher, although it doesn't open on Sundays). The BUT: The photos and information in the offer here on Hinterland are somewhat misleading. The farm is located in the middle of the village (or in the neighborhood of an industrial area or something like that) and directly on a road. There is not much of the pasture/paddock/nature idyll here. What's more, the main road in the village (access to the village, we came from the A8) is currently completely closed until November 2024 due to road renovation work, which already made the journey to the village unpleasantly long and also caused detours during the day trips (unfortunately this was not mentioned in the communication beforehand). We didn't see a single horse (yes, I know, that's our fault: 1. it says in small letters in the description that they are in the pasture 24 hours a day in the summer months and 2. we could have walked to this pasture in 10-15 minutes). However, apart from a cat, we didn't actually come across a single animal. Even the only tractor we saw didn't move an inch in 2 days. The advertised vacation on the farm is different. Before we arrived, we were told that the two local restaurants (a sports hall and a kebab pub) were "available in the village". On site, both were closed (inexplicably, despite the hostess having contacted the sports restaurant by phone beforehand...!?). Shower/WC is smaller than it appears on the ultra-wide-angle photos provided and the motion detectors there unfortunately do not go all the way to the bathroom door (or at least did not work). The bathroom door itself is just a simple old wooden stable door with a sliding bolt (as a contrast to the relatively modern shower) and there were usually 4-6 weavers in the corners. The farm's own decoration store, also shown in the photos, was unfortunately obviously not in operation and the self-service sales stand at the entrance to the farm (whatever is normally on offer here) was permanently empty during our stay. As a previous speaker has already mentioned: In some details you can see that someone (has) made an effort or it used to be or could be a nicer place. In August with animal-crazy children and looking forward to a really rustic, cozy and natural riding stables rather not. If the surroundings (caves, castles, etc.) weren't so great, the place would be (as I said, only rated with our August experience) only as a pure pitch (and then not necessarily for the price of a vacation on the riding/farm).
Nice courtyard, quiet (little busy road next to the pitch), nice people, nice bathroom with hot shower and good water pressure. Small store with bakery and butcher within walking distance. Everything was great. Thank you!
What a beautiful farm 🤗 the hosts are super lovely and friendly and absolutely helpful. The caravan is a bit too high to stand under the tree? No problem. They make room for you. I like it uncomplicated. And in a fantastic scenic location. There's a lot to discover, so the lovely hosts are right at the top of the list of places I'd like to visit again. Shower, toilet, loo - everything available and relatively clean. Unfortunately, we would have liked to know beforehand how loud the street is. Or rather, how close the road is. You should bear that in mind if you're sleeping in a roof tent. So not ideal for people who are light sleepers! Otherwise everything was okay. :)
Super nice hosts and uncomplicated arrangements!
We spent three nights here with our four children. The open stable area was a great natural playground with lots of open space (although if you need to hammer pegs into the ground, you'll have a hard time here), there's a great little swimming pool and a small shop and bakery within walking distance in the village. Campsite level at hinterland prices 👌🏼 It takes about 25 minutes by car to reach beautiful Tübingen. Overall, we would definitely recommend this pitch!
Hello to you both. It was great with you. Thanks to the tip about the horses, we hiked a nice route through the forest. The view was great. Thanks also for the cordless screwdriver.

Karin and Andreas were always very open, friendly and helpful right from the start. They informed us about the farm, the conditions there and also about where and which restaurants are recommended, which cuisine they offer and also what is worth seeing on foot or by bike. As the weather was very changeable, we were able to use a shelter to stay there during the day. Which of course we really appreciated. In the village you can buy everything for your daily needs. We can highly recommend this farm and its owners and will gladly come back another time... Thank you very much

Beautiful large farm in the village. Good starting point for excursions. Communication in advance uncomplicated and quick responses. I was warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable. Everything you need is available, very nice hosts, quiet pitches, small supermarket and bakery nearby - within easy walking distance, beautiful view of the surrounding mountains - directly from the caravan. Great opportunities for walks or hiking.

Now we are also giving our rating. We wrote to Andreas and Karin several times, but unfortunately never received a reply. Prior to our visit, the contact was nice, quick response and so far everything had been clarified. We knew that the two of them were on vacation, but that their daughter and a friend were expecting us. Two hours before arrival we were in contact again about the arrival time, but unfortunately not after that. We arrived shortly after 2 p.m., rang the doorbell several times and waited until someone came. We were then told that we had rung the wrong doorbell. At the front in the courtyard. We should have rung the doorbell on the left around the corner 🤷🏼♀️ Nobody introduced themselves to us either. Instead, we were greeted by the daughter with the words: "I thought you weren't coming until next week". We weren't shown anything, we had to ask about the bathroom and electricity. The bathroom was completely filthy. The daughter said she would clean it later. We never saw her again! The more powerful lady showed us our pitch. When we had set up our awning, the lady's wife came and said we had to dismantle it again and go upstairs to the pitch 🙈. When we had finally set everything up, a horsewoman came and said we were standing too close to the door 😖 and asked if anyone had told us that we had to keep going in and out. No! nobody told us 😤 A warm welcome looks different! Over the next few days, no one asked if everything was ok or anything else. We seriously wondered whether all these messages were fake. Unfortunately, the pictures on the homepage no longer correspond to the current state. You can see that someone once made an effort and invested a lot of time and effort in decoration, flowers, etc.. has put. Now meters of tall grass, everything overgrown, faded, neglected. What a shame, it must have been a beautiful spot! If we hadn't been out and about with our two small children (2 and 4), we would have driven straight on.
We received a friendly welcome. Our wish to park in the courtyard was fulfilled. We used the bathroom. It was specially heated. There was hot water in the shower and cold water in the hand wash basin. We stayed at a time when the horses are in the stable at the farm at night and are in a paddock a little further away during the day. This meant that there was always something to see in the morning and evening when the horse owners came to look after the horses. All in all, we were very satisfied and may come back again if we come to the region.
We were given an incredibly nice welcome and everything was shown and explained to us, very relaxed for camping beginners like us and great for relaxed first-time camping. We would love to come again. Many thanks again.
Dear ones, Thank you very much for your hospitality. Our motorhome is so big that it would almost need its own zip code - yet you welcomed us and our "giant" with open arms. The uncomplicated booking and your attentive care made us feel at home. We were delighted with the super stables and the happy horses, which make every animal lover's heart beat faster. Karin was a super nice hostess. Place nice, bathroom was near, everything good and clean. Electricity we also had. Unfortunately, there were no horses to see, because they were on the summer pasture. A note about this in the ad would have been helpful.
We received a very friendly welcome and were then shown around the site. We were able to pitch our tent wherever we wanted, as "only" one other guest was present. Choosing a pitch... - well... - we simply chose the spot that was suggested to us. The bathroom is super chic - and above all --> BIG! - You could also shower in groups :) - Joking aside, we really liked it. We had some really nice days with you and will certainly want to come back again.

Very nice family who is very concerned about their guests. We slept in the car and because of the rain we could park under a roof (carport) and set up our camping chairs in the dry. Any time again with pleasure.

Totally beautiful! We were accommodated with our family tent in the outdoor area. plenty of space and even the possibility to use the barn and a beer table set if it rains. Even a hammer drill was ready to bring the hernge in the hard ground. The bathroom was top. Unfortunately, the water drain was broken, but that will be repaired very quickly. The village is beautiful and has great shopping and recreational opportunities. For us (family with 2 children) simply the ideal starting point for a Schwäbische Alb vacation...

Hello, we have felt very comfortable here with Andreas and his family. It is a very nice farm and a great pitch. We had a lot of peace and relaxation here. Very great farm and Karin and Andreas super hosts! Have given the little niece a weekend at the horse farm. Karin took her to feed the little ponnies, muck out the stable and check on the big horses. For us great that we also had a bathroom with shower and toilet available. Gladly again!

Located at the foot of the Swabian Alb, the Rossberghof 🐎. An idyllic almost 100-year-old three-sided farm in the midst of a beautiful landscape. Pure nature, not only for us motorcyclists, but also hikers, bon vivants, bathing vixens and sun worshippers. Here in the area there is everything that makes the heart beat faster ... Mountain & valley, forest & meadow, brooks & lakes. My motorcycle was allowed to stand safe and dry in the open stable. A nice, clean bathroom offers everything you need. Pitches for campers are available in the yard and open stable. The horses are cared for with a lot of love and heart and soul, both their own and those who hire them. And that in the "free time", where many enjoy their evening after work, pursue hobbies or simply relax, the work on the farm continues for the lovable family. The joy of life and cordiality of the family is contagious and one feels immediately taken in. Respect and hats off to your creative power. 💪🏻 The extensive pasture offers everything a horse 🐎 needs on 4 hectares, run, shady places under trees, water and plenty of food. With heart and soul, the whole family takes care of the house, the farm, the welfare of the animals and his guests. Even in the middle of the night, when a short but violent thunderstorm raged over us, the whole family checked on the horses in the distant pasture and on me in the hay barn to see if everything was okay. Many of us would not have stepped foot outside the door in this weather. The two adorable dogs have everything under control and the cats catch a petting session here and there. Two lively sweet Shetland ponies make the hustle and bustle perfect. The love and affection of an animal cannot be bought. It is genuine and honest. And you can feel that here, the horses are allowed to be as they are, with all their kindnesses, edges and needs. Thank you for making my trip a wonderful experience 🫶🏻

Karin and Andreas were very friendly and straightforward. The area is quiet, especially at night. During the day it already scurries a little on the farm. But that also makes it varied. The farm is a good starting point for bike tours and hikes. We were there in May. The bathroom is well equipped. We were there for four nights and can well imagine going there again. Karin & Hausi from Switzerland.

Karin and Andi are super nice hosts! The bathroom is very cozy and lovingly furnished. From the farm is a wonderful 3-hour hike: waterfalls, lakes, stream, fields and forest! We liked it very much.

Andreas and Karin were very uncomplicated and helpful hosts, who immediately offered us to maneuver the caravan into the back area of the farm. Even if most of the horses were unfortunately during our stay on the pasture, our boys came fully at their expense, because they were allowed to play in the straw and we did not miss it to sleep there also one night - just wonderful! Including shower / bath / toilet it was a super price-performance ratio. We absolutely recommend the pitch. All the best & many greetings from the south, Family G.

We could ultimately enjoy the place only as a "guest of a guest", but everything is to be recommended without reservation! Beautiful place, luxury bathroom, unfortunately only written, but very nice and uncomplicated contact with Andreas - would have been perfect ...
My 4 day stay at Andreas' farm was wonderful from start to finish. Arrival / departure and even in between everything completely uncomplicated and smooth. Andreas and his wife are super nice and open hosts, where you immediately feel welcome and comfortable. Even my dog was welcome and had her fun. The pitch I could easily choose on the spacious grounds and since I was alone on the site, I could "spread out" at will. The super nice bathroom / toilet I had thus also for me alone. Sink, water, electricity - everything available! Simply perfect! The two ponies stood directly on the farm and could be stroked like the cats; the other horses were on the slightly distant paddock, but could certainly have been visited at any time. In the surrounding area, however, there are enough other things to do and see anyway. All around a successful stay on a beautiful spot. THANK YOU - I will definitely come again ...
Very pleasant, uncomplicated stay. Nice hosts. Impact drill to facilitate herring installation (very hard ground) provided, as well as extension cord (ours would have been too short). Most of the horses were in the pasture, but were allowed to visit with the owner. Horseback riding unfortunately did not work out due to the hot temperatures. Ideal for a few days camping in a slightly different atmosphere. Gladly again. The region offers grad for families varied excursions in the vicinity.
We had to postpone our stay with Andreas unfortunately. The contact with him was very uncomplicated and friendly even before booking in case of queries and then also regarding the postponement! We are very much looking forward to our vacation on his farm.

Very warm hosts. We immediately felt super comfortable. A very great yard. The bathroom is very nicely decorated and completely adequate. We stood with our camper on the back area of the farm it was quiet, we have been able to relax nicely. Our two children were allowed to be with when feeding the horses and have been very happy about it. Also the two dogs and cats we were allowed to get to know🥰 definitely recommend. This was not the last visit for us we will be back.

Andreas and his wife welcomed us warmly and showed us the bathroom with toilet and the possibilities of the pitches. Also a cable drum for electricity was provided to me. The bathroom is clean and modern. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and so it was a wet endeavor with our roof tent. We encountered our hosts and no other people after our arrival and no animals were to be found far and wide. In addition, the place is located on a road with heavy traffic in the morning. Since we had expected something else after the description and reviews. Surely it is good to endure with sun and other campers there:-). Best regards!

We had the perfect start to our vacation. Many thanks to Karin and Andreas. A great loving farm, a paradise for our children, warm and helpful hosts. A really nice clean guest bathroom, which is looking for its equal on some campsites. Our daughter was in seventh horse heaven. Thank you for the wonderful two nights. We will definitely come again.

We liked the stay very much!!! There were also no problems with our 3 dogs. The sanitary facilities were new and nicely furnished. Andreas and Karin are nice and helpful hosts and we will definitely come back again. Maybe we will see each other on a motorcycle tour, whether in the Palatinate or the Swabian Alb. Hello, we stayed three nights with Andreas and Karin. We were welcomed very nice and friendly. And immediately got a nice stable tour. The place to camp was great for us. The sanitary facilities were spacious and clean. You can shop from the farm within walking distance in a small Rewe the most necessary. If you want to go hiking or biking is possible directly from the farm. The Gönningerseen are definitely worth a trip. We have enjoyed the days and come back in any case.
The night on the farm of Andreas was great, he welcomed us very nice and showed us everything. Bathroom and outdoor sink were right next to pitch, which was very comfortable. We will be happy to come back :-)

We were at the Rossberghof for an overnight stay and felt very comfortable. The friendly, open and dedicated hosts Andi and Karin, the pitch in the yard with a view of the horses and the super clean toilet and shower have inspired us. We and our two children were able to experience the horses and the handling of them very directly and even help - thank you very much - and definitely see you soon!
Very nice contact, we were already very excited, because of bad weather we then did not go. We come determined times when the weather cooperates again.
We were very warmly welcomed and cared for. The pitch in the courtyard gave us the unique opportunity to experience the open stable concept live.
