I’m certainly no globetrotter—at most, only in my dreams. We’ve been driving our 1984 LT 28 (the same year I was born) for almost 10 years. It’s my beloved companion and my little bit of independence—or the perfect weekend cottage on wheels—or the chance to take a midday nap anywhere. For me, Brandenburg is the perfect travel destination. With the kids (two of them—one almost ten, one under a year old)—all I usually need is a playground and some other kids. When I travel, it’s all about enjoying the journey. Driving the old car is exhausting. That’s why I prefer to drive only 4–6 hours and then park somewhere nice and safe, ideally eat a warm meal and spend time with the kids—bathing, reading to them, going to bed early, and then hitting the road again. We usually travel with Stefan, too—he’s incredibly good at driving the LT.
