Franz und Marlene
We, Marlene and Franz, are passionate campers ourselves and own an orchard in a wonderful, peaceful location near the Unterschneidheim swimming lake, with a magnificent view of the beautiful countryside and its diverse wildlife, great biking and hiking trails leading to the nearby imperial cities of Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen, as well as Ellwangen and the State Garden Show. Our town offers everything you need—just a 2-minute bike ride from the supermarket, a bakery with a café, a kebab/pizza place, as well as doctors, a pharmacy, banks, and a gas station—yet you’re still in a completely rural setting. Get to know our beautiful countryside and its surroundings, and have a great time doing it. We warmly welcome you anytime.

A beautiful campground nestled among orchards and meadows, surrounded by nature—a true little paradise! The swimming lake, complete with a refreshing cold shower, is the perfect way to cool off on warm days. The food is also highly recommended, and there’s a great place to shop right nearby. We’d especially like to highlight the very kind, reliable, and friendly hospitality from Franz and Marlene. You feel welcome right from the start. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, nature, and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the perfect place for you. We’d love to come back!

It was great getting to know Franz and Marlene! They’re such a sweet couple—they’d pop by every now and then to say hi. The spot is really sloped; there are logs to place underneath, but even with several layers of wood and wedges, we were still tilted. That wasn’t a problem for us at all, but it’s something to keep in mind ☺️—the upper section is flatter and is currently being prepared as a new camping area, so it shouldn’t be an issue anymore. In the evenings, there’s a little frog concert, fireflies are flying, and it’s just idyllic. We’ll definitely be back for a relaxing weekend. 😍
