Camping de Achte is a rural campground located in the Bolsward, Franeker, Sneek triangle. Here you’ll find peace and space to relax and unwind. Our campground is ideal for nature lovers, cyclists, and hikers. There are many beautiful cycling and hiking trails just a stone’s throw away from the historic “Slachtedijk.” It’s also a great place for families with children to relax and have fun. The kids can enjoy our playhouse with swings and a slide or play in the large sandbox. You’ll also find a fun trampoline and various pedal tractors and go-karts. Discover the various animals, such as cats, rabbits, chickens, and two small ponies.

A very beautiful campground surrounded by water, open spaces, and plenty of peace and quiet. The real luxury here is being close to nature. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs croaking, watching a mother swan feed her cygnets, and spotting swallows, gray herons, hares, and more. We had a lovely spot right by the water and were able to enjoy the open spaces and the beautiful play of light in the evening sun every day. The hosts are very friendly and everything was absolutely wonderful. You can cycle directly from the campground to the most beautiful places, such as Sneek, Workum, … always along the water through quaint villages, sometimes along the canal, sometimes along the canals, or through very beautiful salt marshes. We also highly recommend the restaurant in the neighboring village of Easterain, 3 km away. The food is amazing, and the people who work there are so kind. We’re heading home after three days, feeling truly inspired. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the wonderful experiences in West Friesland 🩷

We absolutely loved our stay here. It’s hard to imagine a place that feels more welcoming, relaxed, and family-friendly. Even during the Pentecost weekend, it never felt overcrowded, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is uncomplicated and genuinely warm — we felt at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was waking up every morning next to ponies and adorable duck families with baby ducklings — such a special experience. The only small downside was that there isn’t a lot of shade in some areas, but honestly, it didn’t bother us much. A beautiful place with lovely people — we would happily come back anytime.
