A really lovely place to relax, and a super friendly and helpful host.
We were completely satisfied with our stay at the Gehaichnis Vacation Park. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist us; they also gave us great tips for exploring the area (it’s worth checking out their website, too). We had a wonderful campsite, located right on the water and completely level. The restroom facilities are especially worth mentioning—stylish, practical, and spacious, but above all, clean at any time of day or night!!! Highly recommended, not just for those passing through! Thank you very much!
The hosts and staff are very, very friendly; if you’re looking for a quiet and relaxed camping experience far away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. The restrooms are brand-new, and the showers are nice and spacious, so nothing gets wet and you can take your kids in with you. The campground is still under construction, which is why perfectionists won’t find everything here YET—the dishwashing area, for example, isn’t finished yet—but there’s a very good alternative available. The waste disposal and utility station is very easy to access, even for large vehicles and less experienced drivers. The sites right by the lake are relatively narrow, so you might have to park lengthwise instead of across the site with a lake view. But the second row is very spacious and suitable even for house-sized “battleships” ;-) There’s also a small supply stand at the reception desk for essentials—drinks, pasta, and a selection of sausages from the local butcher (game and pork) are available. The lake is a beautiful sight, and anyone who can take joy in others’ success will see here just how much energy and potential have already been harnessed—and all that’s still to come. It’s a place to witness the development and the love for nature and people—and definitely worth another visit for us. P.S.: Above the valley is a beautiful, shaded bike path—absolutely fantastic! It’s a very easy way to reach Emmelshausen, where you’ll find all the major supermarkets and everything else you might need.
The campground’s biggest draw is that it’s located right on the lake. The restroom facility is new and super clean, which makes the stay very pleasant. The campsites are quite close together, but it’s still perfectly fine. Communication was good, but could be improved—a few details were missing here and there beforehand. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this campground!

Very clean and new showers and toilates. Very friendly owners. Nice surroundings. It is a new camping so there is very little division between standing places. The place has for sure big potential.
Unfortunately, it's over: We (two couples with two vans) had a wonderful weekend at the lake. A beautiful spot, friendly hosts, and well-maintained restroom facilities. And everything was very pleasant, relaxed, and quiet. That's how it should be! Thank you

Hi, I’ll never go there again. We were supposed to park between two RVs, but the space was so tight that we couldn’t fit. We tried parking the RV both diagonally and straight, but we couldn’t extend our awning. Then we parked sideways, and the neighbors on the right and left could see right into our living area. The friendly man who helped us out understood the situation. We explained this to Martina, but she didn’t take it into consideration. She was unfriendly and showed no willingness to accommodate us. We asked for a different spot, and she didn’t respond to that either. Three weeks earlier, I’d booked a spot with her and had to cancel because of my dog. Now Martina has charged me twice—let her be happy with that. We then drove 6 km further to Camping Schinderhannes and, for the same price, got great service with a lake, renovated showers, and tons of space. __________________ Host’s Response: __________________ Hi Heike, It’s a shame you had this experience at our campground. The spot we assigned you is regularly used by RVs of a similar size. The mature trees are a defining feature of our campground and provide shade on hot days. Of course, the trees must also be taken into account when parking the RV or camper. Both my partner and I tried to explain to you how to position the vehicle so that you could also use the awning. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an understanding on this. It’s important to us that our guests feel comfortable. We’re happy to take time for our guests and always try to find a solution. That’s why we would, of course, have offered you another available spot. Unfortunately, however, you ended the conversation so quickly that we no longer had the opportunity to find a solution together. Regarding your comment about the payment, we’d like to clarify that the cancellation fee charged related to an earlier booking and was incurred in accordance with the cancellation policy in effect at the time of that reservation. We find it unfortunate when a stay ends this way, as misunderstandings can usually be easily resolved through a personal conversation. Nevertheless, we wish you all the best for your future travels.

A really lovely campground right on the lake. It’s conveniently located and ideal for short trips, but also perfect for simply spending a few relaxing days. The restrooms are modern, very clean, and well-maintained. The friendly and easygoing staff deserves special mention. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!
An absolutely idyllic spot, in a quiet setting around a pond. Shopping options nearby. Martina was very friendly and easy to deal with; everything went smoothly. The bathrooms are immaculate, modern, and clean.
